Aw, thank ya SO much Lucinda--and a heartfelt thanks for sendin' good wishes to our family too.

Never did I imagine that NYC (and really American) arts and culture would be in the business of shunning and banning. The whole POINT used to be that not only were all welcome but all were welcome to have strong opinions! The fun part was to listen in the lobby and the loo where real New Yawkers (and those nearby who supported the "arts" as culture vultures in the BEST sense of the term) were tongue-duking it out at intermission (a Broadway pastime for sure!)--about EVERYTHING--what the play or show meant, who was well cast and miscast, whose voice was in good form and who should'a stayed home with tea and honey, who was too old for the role or too young, why they messed with the original (they'll never know) but they were glad they stuck back that verse or the cute tap number that was cut from the last revival... and so on...(all this before a revival meant full on destruction of the original...). You miss it too, right? Everyone was an expert and happy to share what they loved and hated (and there was never consensus). Nobody hesitated to voice their opinions, no invitations needed, no fear of being canceled (even when it was snarky--as in "my she got fat!" It was all so vibrant! People were informed and devoted and loved to yak about this stuff, no fear of PC or wokness or other twaddle. We miss all that--and mourn the ersatz thinned meaningless soup it's all become here (though not losing hope). And again, there was the community of the performers themselves--we a formerly huggy bunch (now mostly a fearful and socially distanced bunch). I think what saddnes me most is the PEOPLE--everyone in the arts was known for empathy and having a soul--and letting it be shown (in character even) on stage--and with their fellow actors--it was usually the ENSEMBLE (divas aside, ha ha).

There are SO few artists and creative folks that are speaking out (Ai Wei Wei just spoke out against forced jabs--all the way from China, good on him!)--and of course Clapton and Morrison are from the UK--bless'em all! The DO rock! But "where is the love" (to quote the song) beyond these precious few? I wonder...

Anywho, Daisy n' kin'll look forward to watching the video -- many thanks for sending and more thanks for you thoughts today!
