BULL. Actor Tim Robbins issues a LAME apology for "demonizing" the unvaxxed...
He's the FIRST "Theater + Film Person" to publicly admit he was...sorta mistaken...
I say BULL. Bull. An’ here’z a RASPBERRY from the bleechers, a big Bronx Cheer. Timmy’s playin’ ball. I’d say he struck out, though perhaps his fans’ll disagree.
That he used the word "demonizing" gets him 1 lousy point outta ten. (I’m a keepin’ score.) That one fairly strong word indeed is an admission. However, the rest is him "Tim'in' and Hawin' " and frankly not sayin' much 'cept stating the obvious that well, you can't just refuse people at the door (my emphasis):
"But at the door, you don’t say you can’t come in, because you haven’t done this or that. I had a problem with that. "
Man doesn’t say HOW he demonized hiz fella’ actors—he sorta leaves us wunder’in. Wishy washy ain't the wordfor it. NO Timmy, it warn't "this or that;" they didn't submit to medical tyranny and take an unnecessary toxic injection that is now shown to kill people including children. No Timmy, they didn't mask or distance when you shamed them and/or "demonized" them. It 'wasn’t just “this or that” as if these folks fergot to put on a tie an’ jacket…
His strongest admission:
I was guilty of everything that I came to understand was not healthy. I was angry at people that weren’t wearing masks, and protesting about it in Orange County.
Were you "just" angry Timmy? Did you grumble or...worse? Cursed’ em out? Fired em’? What you were doing was "not healthy" for whom? You? For your mental state of ZEN? “Not healthy” makes no sense unless yer refusin' a can'a Red Bull perhaps?
No sir, you might say you were MEAN or NASTY or SCOLDING or THREATENING...but not healthy? Say what? (Karine Jean-Pierre givin' yer some "Top of Mind" lessons in inarticulate obfuscatin' ???)
Here's the "interview" with Matt Taibbi:
Robbins opines:
Maybe the reason we have problems is that some people are still skittish about being in a crowd with other people, but it could also be that maybe 30 to 40% of theater audiences were told they weren’t welcome. And maybe there’s something in that: when you’re told you’re not welcome, you might not necessarily want to go back.
Daisy Opines (variously):
a. duh /no sh_t Sherlock! --WE do not wanna come back and pay one red cent to the SS Officers who treated us like dirt... not one artistic director or producer in America stood up to this tyranny—you’re in this category…
b. fug you Tim Robbins, this is BULL (Bull like Durham...wink); it's EASY fer you to feel bad now--YOU did not lose yer Union Coverage from SAG or Equity did, ya? Did ya speak out on behalf’a those that did? (Friends if yer outta work for a spell ya lose health coverage and union status too...that’s how these particular unions work…) So sucks the enterainment biz...
So Timmy, it took you and Ben Shapiro THIS LONG?! Really? Your conscience started to bother you WHEN? Like this week? or in April, AFTER you got a show LAUNCHED and opened? Right.
c. you are saving your Hollywood "noble lefty" rump Mister Showman, this is more PR for you... To wit...
OH you work with convicts! Oh you waited to open until you could also allow in uninjected persons (okay, 1 more point)--and OH (PR again...) you feel so bad for your CONVICT ACTORS--that they got outta jail and then (boo hoo) had to go into lockdown as civilians so soon (what about law abidin' citizens and CHILDREN that were forced to eat in the streets, could not enter shops OR theaters or concerts, and were treated like lepers? Don't kill grandma you selfish anti-vaxxer, you covid denier! Do not even THINK of auditioning--where's your vaxxination card? Nope Timmy, feel bad for the convicts, they DESERVE our communal sympathy most...
MENTION too (as you did) that you Marched for Black Lives Matter Mistah' Robbins.
Did you virtue signal enough? Make sure Taibbi knows you're not "of the right"--you wear your conscience on yer sleeve (and on the the FRONT of yer danged jersey).
Sir, I appreciate that you're the first performer to speak up. I do.
HOWEVER yer apology is milquetoast at best--like Rochelle the Walleyed-Liar-Ensky--"Meh, maybe we didn't do as well as we could have... and maybe our messaging could have been better...?" After which (off mic), "Ok, did I do okay? Good. I gotta run, I gotta mani-pedi with Mindy at 3."
Tim Robbins, we did not wait / suffer nearly THREE years for this sort of epiphany. Especially those’ve us in theater—we used to be one big “fambly.” Bullocks now.
Will this get out? Tabbi's not exactly the Gray Lady... (sigh Gray Lady wears a shroud...designed by a tranny but it's still a shroud...she be dead…)
SO Tim Robbins, you're an ACTOR and a WRITER TOO no less and yet ya have not given us a performance--not humanized your story one fleabite! Not even one individual was mentioned in your weak apologia--gorsh, you didn't have'ta even reveal a name but fer example ya could've said, "I'm sorry to the hardworking wardrobe assistant on the Monkey Fart Go Bernie Bonzai set,. and I was wrong to throw my Ugg slipper at you and call you a selfish little b-tch." No, you generalized. Well. Whatever.
Robbins is correct that part of the 'uber plan" of the "pandemic" and shutdowns (he never points any specific fingers...) is also an attack on art an' free expression. (Does this not sound like a page outta "Cradle will Rock?") But he's vague and never really admits to much beyond "misjudgment" or miscalculation on his part--apology lite... and this three years after bein' a part of a brutal attack on his fellow thespians... it all seems too little too late.
Total score, 2 outta 10 for this one. Again, he's a writer as well as an actor AND a director and producer; I'd 'spected better (a better performance at least).
Let me not lend the man more time for his half-donkey's apology. (That's a democat donkey tho' there's plenty o' elephantine asses here too) I'm SURE he feels better having released and relieved his sphincter conscience in a way that will get some noble and respectful "air play" (I give it an air biscuit!).
So let's cue a song that comes to mind—Too Much Too Little Too Late:
And this one too:
Tim Robbins, it's folks like you that screwed all of us royally in the ahrts. I’m sorry but you were not some little first time non-union actor doin’ improv fer under scale. No. You were in a position to HIRE (not just an actor but a director and producer too) and you DID NOT DO THAT, you did not say ok, this is wrong. Come work with me. You didn't buck the system you now whine about because (boo hoo) it's not as liberal as it once was (doi). And nu? ya had to wait THREE YEARS to walk it back a bit?
I'm GLAD--Glad glad glad!!!! (don't git me wrong) that ya said SOMETHING...
I didn't expect a struggle session ‘er genuflection.
BUT Mister Robbins, I DID expect more. Better. Will it be forthcomin'?
I kin wait... And thank you. It WAS better than nuthin’
Daisy
Not exactly but it wuz a puff piece fer sure, very flatterin'-- no hardballs thrown at'im and all cozy an' deferential-like... Taibbi's no fool--he could'a asked, "well why didn't you just open yer doors to all actors THEN ruther than regrettin' it afterwards..?" But nope, didn't go there...
"Gray Lady wears a shroud...designed by a tranny but it's still a shroud...she be dead"
damn. mic drop.
and i wonder did tiabbi call him a hero?
