I know, it's sad and wrong and I agree with ALL the "hollarin'" and fun that's a part of it. We are big Kelli O'Hara fans here (speakin' of musicals & Oklahoma natives!) A few of my favorite unfamous theater folks are also OKIES, though one I fear has gone too woke to talk to me which is sad--but it's these folks I'm writing about. LOL re Ado Annie, such a terrific role too! Thanks for commentin' !

Daisy, you said everything I've ever thought in the past 5 years, and then some!! What a fantastic, hilarious, TRUE take on the dumpster fire that is the state of the theatre. Congratulations for getting the hell out of Dodge, and for sharing your razor-sharp insights with the world. I'm so happy to find you; I thank Tonika for that!

I agree, the theatre will rise again, dammit, like Scarlett O'Hara's fist to the sky! We will sing and dance a new stage into existence, all of us creatives who've been sent packing. It will be reborn, yet again, by outcasts! Count me in!!

Shucks, that means a lot! Thank ya ever so much Mary for all the nice things ya said. So sorry to hear you've also been at the receivin' end of this insane "reproduction" boot that aimed so hard at our fannies fer no sane reason at'all. Yup, EXACTLY a dumpster fire--back in the day, even when New Yawk was a spray-painted mess (not sure if ya had the privilege!) it wuz ONLY the homeless that set fires in the trash cans (an' that waz fer warmth--tho I had to call the FDNY once cuz the fire started ta spread...in front'a my apartment bld!).

But NOW they've set the entire city on fire including the thee-ate-hers an' all the "ahrts" venues. I think've all the late nights when I'd take the trains home, tired after a show (who'd spend money on a cab then?) but if ya kept yer wits 'about ya it was OK and nobody'd wave their willie in yer face let alone try to push ya offa the tracks. NOW (even in cancellation mode) I still wonder--what are the still-workin' actors doin' at 11pm (or the orchestra musicians fer that matter)? Risky 'nuff puttin' yer emotions out thar, now yer life's lit'rally in danger... so yup, entire city is a dumpster fire an I DO wonder if go-woke go-broke'll cause even more theater closings. NOBUDDY was thinkin' 've the oldesters from Joisey an' LonG-EYE-land that keep the seats warm when they made Broadway a twitchin' tranny twerk-fest. New produck-shun 've 1776 (by way'a 1619!)

Thanks agin' Mary! An' yes, we WILL rise again'--not on Broadway, 've that I'm certain, but possibly somewhar' where there are carrot-torches like Scarlett held up defiantly!
