I looked for a YT clip of Memo From Turner, but the one I used in the past has disappeared. One has the ending truncated and another has the whole song, but with some documentary footage tacked onto the beginning and some squirrely noise during the transition between the docu part and the beginning of the song. Yeah, Performance has its dark aspects alright, but the brutality parts seem to me a bit more honest than the brutal attack sequences in say, Clockwork Orange.

Kubrick was an outsider fascinated with the inside, I think--one of those peaceful dudes DRAWN to ponder human brutality. His soundtracks are mighty fine too, tho!
