Ride the RED WAVE!
"Party-Wave Time" fer' Wicked Gnarly Surfer Girls an' Surfer Boys AN' Rockin' Ho-Daddy's alike!
Today I’m a laydee’a fewer wurds than us’ual but I got four short’uns fer ya:
RIDE THE RED WAVE.
I NOSE (gotta good sniffer’ thar…) the system’s RIGGED (purdy much like a’ pirate ship and run like one too—we’ze supposed ta all be walkin’ the plank!). But votin’ RIGHT (in all senses’ve it) means mutiny and heck-all if I’ll go down without a fight!
I NOSE them that that run this ol’ shoot-’em-up horse opry ar’ gonna monkey with them ballot boxes like it wuz Dodge City (seems like it is, act-shilly…) — but agin’ throwin’ my dice in the game’s better than sittin’ this one out, even if it IS a gamble and we know THEIR dice IS loaded!
I NOSE that votin’ on it’s own ain’t gonna fix all what’s broken even if we do put the pedal ta’the metal, Run them Reds an’ chase the Blues outta town! (Lordy may’it happen tho…) BUT if nuthin’ else, we’ze buyin’ some TIME and that’s a good thing indeed! (Time may’nt heal all wounds but a little’more’ve it may wound some real heels, we hope!)
So I never like to tell folks what ta do but let’s jus’ say this is a strong sir-jest-in’ …:
Even if ya haven’t voted in thirty years, even if yer wooden leg named Smith’s givin’ ya the creaks, even if yer kawfee’s gonna git cold… THIS AIN’T LIKE ANY OTHER Eeee!‘LECTION we’ve had before. NO not all votes’r the SAME even all sides ‘till Sunday ar’ corrupt (core-up-t!) Iffin’ we New Yawkers get HoHoHocul agin’ we’ze done fer!
WHY THIS TIME?
This time they are full out TRYIN’ to KILL US (and destroy the con-tree, yup choppin’ it down like that fake cherry tree Warshin’ton never done axed…but now we’ze ax’in’ ta keep it up!)
Do not let the WIPE OUT happen!
Hang ten, doggies! Ride the RED WAVE!
Daisy
(I may not be Red, but I wuz Blue once too—and lan’sakes I ain’t gonna be Blue no mor’ )
PS A couple exit tunes ta’ serenade ya’s on the way to the polls…
as fer RED bouncin’ back…
I think it’s gonna be alright
Yes, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shining
Like a red rubber ball….
And… bonus…jus’ cuz Mel is sooooooo COOOL even when this is soooooo wrong fer him… (but a’ course that makes it all SO RIGHT crackpot-syle so I dig’it mighily !!!)
A Sorry-ful UPDATE / POST SCRIPT / EULOGY…sigh:
It’s after mid’nite. Now I’m a laydee with no wurds—only a few letters—FUC and the letter after J. Addin’ an “-ed” at the end is optional as “we is” (fuc-ed that is…). WIPEOUT in NY.
Git sum’ marshmall’erz y’all in this sorry state, quarantine campin’ ahead… Burn’in’ Down the House that wuz once our home… but really this song…that follers…is the one that meets the occasion now…fer Daisy here at least… it’s a beauty…
This Weill / Anderson sparkle’ve brilliance—and Judy’s heartfelt rendition—’r speakin’ volumes. Hope ya like it—other wunner’ful versions are the Walter Huston & Lotte Lenya originals—Sammy Davis Jr’s later cover is real good too, better n’ Frankie’s even… not to mention William Shatner’s “spoken woid” one which is special…an’ heartfelt too……lordy we all need a good Capt’n now… our ship is Lost in the Stars…
Don't fall down on the job runnin' to the poles...be keerful, but git there 'n' vote yer ass off.
