So first, yes, the birds stopped at the end but I think it was only logical "why" if you look at Melanie's "character Arc"--they totally de-sexed her--from a bombshell to a traumatized mess where wounds replaced her makeup an' she had ta lean on Mitch & Lydia just to walk--kinda a meta theme. And it's clear the birds of prey chastened her for comin' into that small town with...and like...a love bird. Now at the start, it was that she was beautiful, clever, and semi-deceitful (that's how Mitch recognized her--as a lawyer)--she wasn't bad, just a mischief maker--so the film is oddly "moral" as that mischief-they-name-is-woman got punished. It's still a fun film--but for Target to make her a "toy" (after what the director did too) is just (imho) too much!
BUT that's why Coughlin is perfect! As is his lecture on women as he too talks about the gay "agenda" erasing women--real women. So we have a film that wants to "de-nature" us an' a set of smug execs. at Target that wanna erase us... And Coughlin brings in "how" this is done--with all those arcs and larger...targets! so each individual attack cannot be fought. I hope he'll do more interviews now--there's a lotta readin' but sometimes when he explains "in person" it's better--so glad ya shared him--he pairs so well with Charlotte Iserbyt 'bout the deliberate dumbing down of America--most folks don't even SEE what's goin' on--but to me, what's goin' on at Target (inside and out!) is one good indicator!

So first, yes, the birds stopped at the end but I think it was only logical "why" if you look at Melanie's "character Arc"--they totally de-sexed her--from a bombshell to a traumatized mess where wounds replaced her makeup an' she had ta lean on Mitch & Lydia just to walk--kinda a meta theme. And it's clear the birds of prey chastened her for comin' into that small town with...and like...a love bird. Now at the start, it was that she was beautiful, clever, and semi-deceitful (that's how Mitch recognized her--as a lawyer)--she wasn't bad, just a mischief maker--so the film is oddly "moral" as that mischief-they-name-is-woman got punished. It's still a fun film--but for Target to make her a "toy" (after what the director did too) is just (imho) too much!
BUT that's why Coughlin is perfect! As is his lecture on women as he too talks about the gay "agenda" erasing women--real women. So we have a film that wants to "de-nature" us an' a set of smug execs. at Target that wanna erase us... And Coughlin brings in "how" this is done--with all those arcs and larger...targets! so each individual attack cannot be fought. On re-reading your comment, I think you, like me, haven't read Paglia's book "The Birds", so first off, here's a link to a free download site (free, but I always use a VPN when downloading almost anything, just in case).

I'd love to be able to talk 10% and listen 90% to/with Paglia, but only if we we're in a coffee shop where I could have quad-espressos at a moment's notice, and she was limited to some kind of soothing herbal tea...either that or take a time machine back to the 1980s and equip me with a couple grams of what P.J O'rourke called Peruvian marching powder, which, thankfully isn't in the cards.
