I'd a thunk that too--but folks with natur'ly lower body temp (hypothyroid fer ex.--a degree 'r two down from 98.6) exist--so I wonder what they kin "engineer"..... An' tho it's true the cold kills off a lotta bugs (edible insects), methinks that power-hungry (in all senses!) labs've Gates & Co. will keep things jus' warm enuf fer meal worms and maggots and other such delicacies intended for us "Humanz 2.0".... I worry that "good bugs" (like bees!, dyin' already) could be undone by it...
Yup, we're all in fer them pines! Been makin' pine tea since the start've it all!--there's a great white pine at the 69th Street entrance to CPW--on the left--that one we used for all our NYShitty time (we always gave thanx--grateful foragers here!)--Gotta new one we forage upstate here in walkin' distance! (Thx fer the Shubert clip! We wuz lucky 'nuff to see the talented Joyce D. on stage more 'n a few times--now I wouldn't go back ta the MET if ya paid me, we'z hopin' all them roosters give Gelb a good bite u know whar for that an' fer canceling all the Russian musicans an' singers like Anna Nebtrenko). All that said, when w ain't at the hoe-down we do love opera an' all the opera-trained singers like Klaus N., Nina Hagen, an' even Freddie Mercury!!!!
Thought-provoking as always, Daisy! Warmth is not just a physical reality but a metaphysical or spiritual one as well. Children who are raised without warmth -- love, compassion, attention, encouragement, lots of hugs and care -- cannot grow into warm human beings who are able to bestow that same warmth upon others. It's the difference between mammals and reptiles.
That said... are you okay?? I hate the idea of you and your family shivering up there in NY...
Gee thanks Mary--an' you make a VERY GOOD point about warmth between people (physical an' all the spiritual and emotional elements ya mention too which--it's interestin'--cuz in many languages they're referred to as "warmth"/ chaleur...etc). Plus it warms the heart when ya give hugs 'n git 'em.... YES! This they wanna take away from us--physical distance, emotional distance... all've it.
We ARE okay--'specially now that it's a mite warmer, ha ha! Is I wrote, we had some shivery days that got me thinkin' bout the cold but I have ten ways 'til Sunday (...no sundaes fer the moment now ha ha!) to keep warm--so we did. But the chill does put a damper on yer "doin's." We are even prepared if the heat is off (Got Kerosene!)---not ideal but we adapt... I think the Baddies are countin' on us NOT adaptin' but humans were made to figger stuff out... I have faith in that!
Been think' 'bout you too--I mean to make a post inspired by yer Jimmy Stewart one--hope ta git to it soon!
ha ha yup, the most "oxymoronic" term for a-social alien-aye-shun! don't worry 'bout us yet, hopefully they won't turn NY State into a SubZero walkin' fridge cuz HoHoHochul is with the plan (cue the hiss an' slap her royal self with a frozen flounder!). Shucks that is so kind've ya to offer shelter in the Sunshine State--wull keep it in mind with gratty-tude! Soitenly I know the grass is greener in other states now--we have ties to NY fer the moment but we'z watchin' land an' sea just in case... what insane times in the ol' U.S. of Eh????
Got a little ways into it, but it's late and I'll get to the rest tomorrow...glad to see you around again. :-)
yep
"COOL WORLD" BY MONDO ROCK (1981)
Lots of cool ideas Daisy. The human body temperature isn't likely to change though, and cold kills off the bugs that you all be a eatin.

Absolutely -- social distancing (the most moronic oxymoron ever) was tailor-made to suck the warmth right out of the whole society.
I know you're tough as nails and could probably survive Armageddon, but still, it's concerning to me. You have a place in Florida if you need it, k?
Aw, thanks Infanttyron3--glad ta be back, I do try! Enjoy the readin' an' THANK YOU so much fer yer support! Sendin' good wishes yer way!
